The treatment
What the Chinese Herb Head Spa is
The Chinese Herb Head Spa is a scalp treatment at D4 Season in Lynnwood. It runs 60 minutes and costs $90. The treatment uses Chinese herbal ingredients and a scalp essential oil. Our menu lists it for cleansing, comfort and a refreshed-feeling scalp.
The same treatment also comes in a longer build. The extended version runs 90 minutes and costs $135. This page covers who the treatment suits and what separates the two lengths. You can see it beside every other option on our head spa menu.
Who books it
The scalp that feels a size too small
This treatment is built for one kind of scalp. It is the one that feels dry and tight. We call it the scalp that feels a size too small. Hot showers pull moisture out of it. Winter heating that runs all day does the same. Hard water can add to the feeling as well.
A tight scalp does not always look like anything. Nobody else can see it. You still feel it every time you touch your hair. That is the feeling this session is shaped around. If your main concern is something else, our Lynnwood scalp treatment page sorts the whole menu by concern.
What the session does about it
The Chinese herbal ingredients and the scalp essential oil carry the session. The work stays gentle and stays on your scalp. Nothing here strips the scalp in order to get it clean. Our menu lists the result as cleansing, comfort and a refreshed-feeling scalp. We describe how it feels afterward and we stop there.
An honest boundary
This is a comfort service and nothing more. See a dermatologist first if itching or flaking keeps coming back. Do the same if a patch is sore or painful. A spa session can make a scalp feel better. It cannot diagnose anything, and we will not pretend it can.
60 minutes, $90
What the hour holds
The 60-minute session at $90 keeps a narrow focus. Two things carry the hour. The first is the Chinese herbal ingredients. The second is the scalp essential oil. Our menu describes the session as scalp work. That is what you get, and we do not pad the description.
Neither length includes hydrotherapy. That step is warm water flowing gently over the scalp, and only three treatments on our menu include it. Read our hydrotherapy head spa page if the water step is the part you came for.
When one hour is the right call
Book the hour when you have one clear hour and no more. You get the herbal ingredients and the scalp essential oil at the lower price. It is also the easier length to try first. You can book the longer version next time.
90 minutes, $135
Inside the extended 90-minute version
The extended build, 90 min $135, keeps everything the hour version has. Then it adds three things. Those three are scalp oil, a hair mask and steam. That is the whole difference. We will not stretch the list to make it sound bigger.
The base of the session does not change. Both lengths use the same Chinese herbal ingredients and the same scalp essential oil. Both are listed for cleansing, comfort and a refreshed-feeling scalp. The extra thirty minutes go into the three additions and nowhere else.
That extra half hour matters most to a scalp that feels tight. Those three additions are the reason to pay the higher price. If you want a different 90-minute session instead, read about the Luxury Head Spa.
Scalp oil, a hair mask and steam
Scalp oil goes on the scalp. The hair mask goes on the hair. Steam is the third addition. Your therapist will explain the order on the day of your appointment. Ask any question you have before the session starts. Nothing is added beyond this short list.
What we will not claim
We will not tell you what the herbal ingredients do inside your body. They are here for cleansing and comfort, and that is where our menu stops. We make no health claim about this session. Take any scalp or hair concern to a dermatologist instead.

— Common questions
Asked & answered.
Who is the Chinese Herb Head Spa for?
+
It suits a scalp that feels dry and tight. We call that the scalp that feels a size too small. Hot showers, winter heating and hard water all leave a scalp feeling that way. The Chinese Herb Head Spa 60 min $90 leans toward comfort rather than a hard cleanse.
What happens during the 60-minute session?
+
The hour stays on your scalp. Your therapist works with Chinese herbal ingredients and a scalp essential oil. That pairing is the point of the session. Our menu lists the treatment for cleansing, comfort and a refreshed-feeling scalp. The Chinese Herb Head Spa 60 min $90 is the standard build.
What does the extended 90-minute version add?
+
It adds three things and only three things. Those are scalp oil, a hair mask and steam. Everything else matches the shorter build. Both lengths use the same Chinese herbal ingredients and the same scalp essential oil. Book the Chinese Herb Head Spa (extended) 90 min $135 for those additions.
Which herbs are used in the treatment?
+
We do not name individual herbs on this page. The session uses Chinese herbal ingredients and a scalp essential oil. Tell us about any allergy or sensitivity when you book rather than on the day. Your therapist can go over what goes on your scalp before the session begins.
Do the herbs work like medicine?
+
No. We will not tell you what the herbal ingredients do inside your body. We make no health claim about this session. Our menu lists the treatment for cleansing, comfort and a refreshed-feeling scalp, and that is where we stop. Please take any scalp or hair concern to a dermatologist.
Should I book the extended version on my first visit?
+
Either choice works. The 60-minute session at $90 is the simpler way to try the treatment. The Chinese Herb Head Spa (extended) 90 min $135 suits you better if you want the scalp oil, hair mask and steam as well. Both lengths use the same herbal base.
